My 3 Favourite MAC Lipsticks | A Review

Similarly to most girls, I hoard lipstick. Because it's on sale, because I love the packaging, because it 'goes with an outfit', any excuse. I've always had time for MAC - they've not let me down yet (touch wood). So after raiding through too many MAC lipsticks alone, I've whittled them down to my top three 'go-to' shades which I wear the most and really rate.

L-R + Top-Bottom: 'Angel', 'Plum Dandy' & 'Ruby Woo'

I'd say 'Angel' is my ultimate go-to everyday lipstick if I'm heading out and applying a full face of make-up. It's your classic frost, light pink but without giving the 'concealer lips' look, there's a subtle hint of pearl which really attracts me to this shade. It's pretty long lasting but I tend to apply a little bit of lipgloss over the top to ensure it stays on longer!

I love this frost lipstick, the picture above doesn't really do it enough justice. It's a glossy plum with flecks of gold, which blend together achieving a subtle shimmer. The thing I like most about this shade is that it's really build-able. Above I've applied one slick, but a couple more coats achieves an interesting darker tone which I find really interesting and not too 'gothy'. The colour is long lasting and texture isn't anything short of moisturising.

Because I have pale skin and light hair, I find that blue-toned reds suit me best. Ruby Woo has to be the perfect matte, red lipstick that I've tried. The only downside is that if you have naturally dry lips, it's a good idea to exfoliate and apply balm beforehand, because it's really annoying if it dries out and looks flaky.

How do you feel about the MAC hype and what are your favourite lipsticks?
